Kanata Dragons

About Us

Overview
The Kanata Dragons Athletic Club is a not for profit community organization that has been formed to offer children aged 3 to 11 the opportunity to play recreational sports in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

The focus of our programs will be on fitness, fun and participation rather than on intensive skill development and competition.

All our programs will be played in Kanata with some activities being played at the Richcraft Recreational Complex on Innovation Drive.

Our Programs
The Kanata Dragons run 4 programs through the year

  • Winter - A 10 week program starting in mid January and limited to 100 participants. The program is held in the gymnasium at the Richcraft Recreation Complex.
  • Summer - Our biggest program with room for up to 800 participants. The summer program is a 10 week season starting in mid May. The program is held on various grass fields.
  • August - A popular 5 week program played on the artificial turf at the Richcraft Recreation Complex during the month of August. The program is limited to 180 participants.
  • Fall - A 10 week program starting in mid October and limited to 100 participants. The program is held in the gymnasium at the Richcraft Recreation Complex.

Special Needs
The Kanata Dragons are pleased to offer children with special needs the opportunity to play soccer. We are able to offer this program to a limited number of children with the assistance of dedicated special needs staff who are hired by the Kanata Dragons for the duration of the summer season. In previous seasons children with autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome have participated in this program.
